A special edition Single Cask whisky crafted through the unique 7-column distillation process. Produced entirely under one roof—from grain to glass—it reflects the distinctive character of Nestville Distillery. The spirit is matured for a minimum of 4 years in ex-American bourbon casks before being finished in a Spanish sherry wine cask, bringing the total maturation period to more than 6 years. This double maturation creates a rich and beautifully balanced flavour profile. The abbreviation B&W stands for Bourbon & Wine, referring to the two cask types used during maturation.
In 2023, this whisky received Gold Medals at both the SIP Awards and the Global Spirits Masters – World Whisky Masters.
The tradition of finishing whisky in sherry casks originated in England, where Spanish sweet sherry was widely imported in oak barrels. Once emptied, these casks were no longer of use to the wine merchants, but an innovative whisky producer recognised their potential. Seeking an affordable source of quality oak casks, he experimented with maturing whisky in them. The result was remarkable, and sherry cask finishing soon became a respected tradition in whisky production. Today, this traditional maturation method gives Nestville Whisky Black & White its deep amber colour and distinctive fruity character. Thanks to the influence of the sherry cask, the whisky develops a rich and well balanced flavour profile.
