Nestville Whisky Black & White is a special edition single barrel whisky. The first years are aged in American bourbon barrels, and the last years are spent in Spanish sherry wine barrels. Hence the use of the abbreviation B&W for Bourbon and Wine.
The practice of aging whisky in Sherry casks began in England, where they were quite fond of buying sweet Spanish Sherry in casks. Once the casks were empty, the English had no use for them and burned them, which caught the eye of a certain whisky maker. With visions of cheap barrels, he gave them a try. He was very surprised by the result and so maturation in sherry casks became a tradition in the whisky production process. The sherry cask gives Nestville Whisky Black & White a beautiful unprecedented brown colour and a unique taste of fruit.
