Nestville Whisky did not come to life overnight. Its roots reach back centuries, when grain was cultivated here. Crystal-clear mountain water formed the foundation of life and local distilling.
The year 2008 was a milestone in the history of Nestville Distillery — the year we filled our very first casks with whisky distillate. What began as the dream of our founders and colleagues grew into a vision, and from vision into reality. The whisky matured silently in grand oak casks, hidden away but destined to captivate the world when its time came. The very first drop saw the light of day in 2012, born in a small distillery in the heart of Central Europe. Since then, its story has written itself into the hearts of whisky lovers and enthusiasts across every continent.
The Birth of the Master Blender Collectors’ Edition
In 2017, we introduced our first eight-year-old Nestville Whisky Master Blender, a limited collectors’ edition. We could hardly have imagined that this jewel would capture the hearts of whisky lovers. It also earned recognition from the world’s elite. Renowned whisky critic Jim Murray named it European Whisky of the Year 2019 in his prestigious Whisky Bible. Originally priced around €60, it became a collectors’ treasure, later auctioned in 2023 for nearly €1,700.
Decades of Patience Captured in a Single Bottle
The Master Blender edition soon became a tradition, with a carefully crafted release each year. In 2025, we unveiled our oldest whisky to date — the ninth collectors’ edition: Nestville Whisky Master Blender 2025 16yo. Part of this blend was finished in casks that once held red wine made from the rare Slovak crossbred grape Hron. This whisky embodies our passion, artisanal mastery, and a piece of home, tradition, and pride. Whisky consultant and U.S. Master Distiller Tracie Franklin described it beautifully:

Golden Success Among the World’s Elite
Today, Nestville Whisky is recognized by connoisseurs in more than 47 countries. From prestigious retailers to renowned bars, it has earned global acclaim. But international success isn’t only measured in expansion to new markets.
Our latest triumph came at the World Whisky Masters Competition 2025, where we stood proudly among the world’s elite. Nestville Whisky Single Malt Single Cask 45% also achieved Gold in the Single Malt Whisky category. It reflects consistent quality, complexity, and masterful craftsmanship. Nestville Whisky Master Blender 2024 15yo earned Gold in the Blended Whisky category, impressing with its depth, elegance, and delicate pear notes from its maturation in pear brandy casks.
