Tip No. 1 – Jarabina Gorge
Looking for an easy trip with a big visual impact? Visit the Jarabina Gorge – a narrow canyon shaped by the Malý Lipník stream near Stará Ľubovňa.
On a short route (about 0.5 km), you’ll discover dramatically narrow rock walls, rapids, waterfalls, and unique fossils. The trip is ideal for families with children, and thanks to the educational trail and viewpoint, you can fully enjoy the beauty of the site.
Tip No. 2 – Ľubovňa Castle
Just a few kilometers from Nestville Park stands the iconic landmark of the region – Ľubovňa Castle. A place full of fascinating stories, from royal meetings to hidden crown jewels and the imprisonment of Móric Beňovský.
Tip No. 3 – Wooden Articular Church in Kežmarok
This unique church is one of the best-preserved wooden sacral buildings in Slovakia. Built in 1717, its Baroque interior will enchant you with its intricate details and artistic craftsmanship. The church is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visiting this place will transport you to the past and let you appreciate the craftsmen’s skill and devotion.
Tip No. 4 – Ľubovňa Open-Air Museum
Experience the authentic taste of northern Spiš in Nestville Park – enjoy original drinks, taste artisan chocolate, and take advantage of winter attractions such as the skating rink and ice slide.
And if you wish to slow down for a moment, visit the Ľubovňa Open-Air Museum. Discover a world where time seems to stand still. You’ll find 25 traditional log buildings from the region, a wooden Greek Catholic church, and technical structures – along with numerous folklore events and craft markets throughout the year.
